Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.
Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.
And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂
What I’ve learned this week:
in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head
At this writing I’m new to the blogging world, and I will say that it is challenging. Very challenging. I heard a presentation from a Life Coach this morning and she mentioned the value of positive affirmations. I think this is something I will begin to practice for my blogging career. It is a slow process and requires much effort, time, determination and plain old hard work. But I can do it! As with other areas of my life, remaining positive makes ALL the difference! Do you practice positive affirmations?
I am grateful every day that my life is in God’s hands. Everything that happens to me in life has a purpose, whether I know it at the time or not. He is just a bit smarter than me, don’t you think? Where do you put your trust?
Beginning my quest for a new signature fragrance, and not looking forward to it. I’ve been wearing the same scent for about 40 years and it is no longer available, unless I want to pay about $300 on ebay…not. But, that scent is part of who I am…my style. So it’s a significant adjustment for me.
Recently I purchased a trio of fragrance testers from Phlur, an online source that manufactures natural fragrances. They just arrived in the mail the other day so am in the process of trying them out. We’ll see…update is forthcoming. Is fragrance important to you?
I’ve been trolling around a bit, searching for a healthy eating plan. I don’t eat large quantities of food, but my choices are not always the healthiest. Recently I found a plan that looked pretty darn good until I got to the part where you had to give up coffee. That ain’t happenin’.
I did decide, though, to start making protein shakes again. The last time I included them with any regularity in my diet, I was in my 40’s and had just gotten married to the love of my life, Randy. We worked out together every day, ate healthy and drank protein shakes. Those were the days. Do you follow any particular eating plan? Does it work for you?
I read romance novels. There, I said it. I read them when I go to bed, for about 5 to 10 minutes. They put me to sleep. I think I enjoy them because they’re basically mindless reading that won’t stay in my head or keep me up at night. Do you read before bed?
So, you know how as you get older things start happening to your body? I’ve been fortunate to have only one small issue, and that is a bit of leakage after I tinkle. Not a lot, but just enough to be really annoying and make a teeny bit of a mess.
So a year or so ago I decided to try some panties that were specially made to absorb leakage. I did some online research and ultimately ordered 2 pair of Icon Undies. After trying them out for a couple of weeks, I ordered 2 more pair. And I’ve been wearing them for over a year now. They’re quite comfy and have lasted very well through the washing and drying process. They cost more than department store undies, of course, but for me they’ve been well worth the extra investment.
Interested? Check out Icon Undies and give them a try. As they say on the site, “peeing is believing” 🙂
