CAUSEBOX Fall 2018 Review

(Last Updated On: March 23, 2019)

My CAUSEBOX Fall 2018 Review!

If you are not familiar with CAUSEBOX, it is a subscription program for women, with unique and beautiful curated items crafted by artisans from around the world. Each item in the collection is crafted by a company that empowers women, gives back to the community, and/or donates a portion of proceeds to help make the world a better place.

The cost is about $50 per seasonal collection (if varies just a little bit depending on if you pay quarterly or annually) and the contents are always valued at a higher price than what members pay.

Was everything perfect with this shipment? No. It seemed to take forever, to be honest. I was getting ready to contact the company when I received a notification of shipment, so I knew my delivery was in process. More about that in a minute.

This post contains affiliate links. If you click on a link and decide to purchase a product, I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting my site!

When my CAUSEBOX was delivered, I noticed the size immediately. It was almost twice the size of the previous boxes, so that piqued my curiosity!

As soon as I opened the box I saw the reason. The October Jaipur tote was laying flat, not folded, in the box, over the top of the remaining contents. Cool…no creases that never want to come out!

This bag is handmade in Jaipur, India from canvas and vegan leather.  At 17″ wide and about 15″ in height, it will be a flexible and functional tote for sure.

Why did the delivery take longer than anticipated? There was a notice enclosed that described how one of the planned items, a Badala Cheese Board with Kisu Knife, was damaged beyond repair in transit. The replacement piece, a S’Well Bottle, is gorgeous, but extra time was needed to make the switch. Thus, our shipment was not received in as timely a manner as in the past.

My feeling is that when you are working with very specific, hand crafted items, unforeseen things can happen. I am very happy with my Causebox.

CAUSEBOX Fall 2018 Contents

causebox fall 2018 Realher eyeshadow pallete and Natura face mask

RealHer vegan and cruelty free eyeshadow palette with brush. I love the philosophy of this company as explained by founder Bill Xiang, who says that  their products are created to “support a beauty routine focused on feeling good rather than trying to look like airbrushed or Photoshopped models”. Thank you! They also have an active charitable donation program that supports women’s education a well a health.

Natura Reconstructive Hair Mask made from murumuru. Say what??

Founded in Brazil in 1969, Natura has grown to be one of the largest skincare companies on the planet.  Located in the same country as the Amazon, Natura is committed to working there and helpng to preserve the Amazon. They use natural ingredients found in this locale, including murumuru, pataua and andiroba.

Natura’s philosophy is that everybody is beautiful, and we should appreciate our own unique beauty rather than aspiring to some idea of perfection.

I’m looking forward to using both of these products!

Causebox Fall 2018 hndmade tote

October Jaipur tote, a collaborative effort between the company and CAUSEBOX. The tote is 90% handmade by local artisans with only the final 10% done by machine, crafted from vegan leather and canvas.

October Jaipur was founded in 2013 by two young women, who named the company after the location in India where they located the headquarters – Jaipur – and the month that they launched their brand – October. The company tagline is “thoughts of a dreamer, skills of an artisan”. I like that!

Causebox Fall 2018 product review

S’Well Bottle from the Wood Collection, in the deluxe 25 oz. size. It has technology to keep beverages hot, or cold, up to 24 hours. I gave one of these to a friend for her birthday a few months ago, and she loves it!

These bottles are very high quality and eco-friendly, and they don’t sweat when you fill them with ice water. 🙂

Since 2015, S’Well has committed $800,000 to UNICEF USA to help provide clean and safe drinking water to the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Paper Source – Indian Fine Paper Note Set handmade in India using recycled cotton textiles, with no toxic chemicals. The paper is dried using solar energy. So, the note cards are eco-friendly, tree-free, handcrafted, acid-free and 100% recycled. Awesome!

Post card and Fall Causebox design by artist Abby Lossing, who has the uncanny ability to create relatable human emotions out of shapes and colors.

Causebox Fall 2018 Bloom and Give scarf

Bloom & Give Scarf loomed in regions of India known for their fabrics. There are two scarves that are included in the Fall collection, and I’m really thrilled with the scarf that was included in my box. This company’s mission is to help send girls to school in India, and they donate 10% of all sales to these projects.

I love the feel of my scarf, and the black/gray/ivory pattern will quickly become a wardrobe accessory!

Causebox Fall 2018 Review

This is my third CAUSEBOX and I have been quite happy with all of the contents received. I look at it this way: the items received are so unique and lovely, if I don’t have a use for them they will make wonderful holiday or birthday gifts!

It’s very easy to subscribe, and you can choose from either an annual or quarterly payment plan. You’ll save some money with the annual plan as well as be given options to choose some of the products in your CAUSEBOX. And, you can easily pause or cancel your subscription at any time.

I have to admit I am really not familiar with Causebox, or I wasn’t until I now learned about it and I have to say this sounds pretty cool! I think what I especially love is the fact that it’s not monthly, somehow those monthly boxes end up being too much for me, I feel like I don’t even get to enjoy the products from the previous month and here comes another one and just more stuff that piles in my closets.

I agree, Nina, a quarterly (seasonal) box arriving at the front door is special because it doesn’t happen too often. I really enjoy it. 🙂

I’ve been wondering about this box so your review is handy. I got my very first fabfunfit box and loved it. I’ll have to ponder it.
