City Beauty Review
If you’re a woman over the age of 50 I don’t have to tell you about our aging skin. You’re living it every day, just like me.
And when we wave goodbye to the 50’s (you’re still youngsters) and are a member of the Over-60 Club, the changes to our skin, not just on our face but all over our body, become even more evident. Finding the best mature skin care routine becomes a priority.
I’ll say right now that I’m a proponent of natural aging. No surgeries or suctions, no fillers or injections. Just beautiful ol’ me. So, I remind myself every day that aging is a natural process and I have so very much to be grateful for.
What are a few wrinkles, sags, bags, skin tags, age spots and other odd, strange things that appear on my skin? They’re absolutely annoying but natural and to be expected. They make a pretty convincing case for long sleeves and ankle-length pants. 🤭
When it comes to products and the best mature skin care routine, however, my little paw is raised high and I’m right there, wanting to test, try, evaluate and use the products that treat my skin well and help it to regain some of its youthful glow.
My face is my window to the world so to speak, and that is the area that I focus on the most when it comes to evaluating the best products for mature skin.
The neck and decolletage is an area that I neglected to properly care for during my years of fun in the sun while living in Southwest Florida, and I’m paying the price for that now. But it doesn’t stop me from searching for the best topical products, plus remaining faithful to my natural facelift exercises which include the neck area.

City Beauty Products Review
I recently affiliated with City Beauty products and have been using several of them regularly. Why did I choose City Beauty?
I appreciate that they specialize in what they call “functional beauty”, which means that all of their products are designed to not only make us look beautiful while we wear them, but to also provide deeper benefits.
City Beauty’s products are cruelty-free and designed with anti-aging benefits in mind, so of course, I’m curious and interested to see how their products perform in the realm of the best mature skin care routine.
If you want to know more about the ingredients that City Beauty uses, here are some details for you:
The City Beauty line is designed with skin-rejuvenating and collagen-supporting actives such as Hyaluronic Acid, Oligopeptides, Resveratrol, and Vitamin C, just to name a few.
Each product is formulated to target specific concerns — whether it’s to volumize thinning lips, brighten dark spots, improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, or smooth skin texture.
I am able to offer a special discount for the new MicroBiome Night Mask as detailed below, for a very limited time.

City Beauty provided these products to me at no charge. These are my honest opinions about their use and how they have worked for me.
City Beauty Products I’ve Used
This complexion-stabilizing night mask is debuting on 12/23/2019, and uses probiotics to restore a radiant, youthful glow to your face.
I’ve tried facial masks before, but the MicroBiome Night Mask is different from the others. As the name suggests, it is worn at night, overnight to be specific, so it has time to work its magic on your skin.
As of this writing I’ve used the overnight mask several times, and have had two friends, people I see regularly, comment on the look of my face…in a good way!
The probiotics and prebiotics in the Microbiome Night Mask naturally help restore a healthy balance to your skin, while nutrient-dense plant extracts support healthy skin-renewal. What does this mean? Well, wrinkles and fine lines are less visible, skin tone appears brighter, and the skin surface looks smoother.
Friends, I can honestly say, “absolutely, yes!” to all of the above. My skin is definitely brighter and appears smoother, after just a few applications.
It’s easy to use, and the product is not messy. I put a small amount on my freshly cleaned face and smooth it in until it disappears (it’s purple). It’s important to note that no other products are used on the face; just the night mask. I let it dry for about 30 minutes before I go to bed.
My face doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable, which can happen with some facial masks. And as mentioned above, it is not messy and won’t make a mess of your pillow or bedding.
In the morning I gently remove the mask with a warm washcloth.
If your skin tone is uneven, complexion is dull, skin feels dehydrated or looks red, or you have fine lines and wrinkles, the MicroBiome Night Mask could be the perfect solution! And, it’s safe for normal, oily, combination, dry, or sensitive skin types.
Bottom line? I’m really impressed with the MicroBiome Night Mask. This is a keeper, and I’ll continue to use it 2 or 3 times per week.
The Under Eye Recovery is a brightening eye cream designed to brighten dark circles and get rid of puffiness under the eyes. It also smooths fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area.
My under-eye bags generally hide behind my glasses, but they sort of drive me crazy. It’s a natural occurrence as we age but I sure don’t care for them!
I like the fact that this Under Eye Recovery is not greasy or thick. I can use it in the morning as well as at night and it blends in well.
It’s a bit early to say for sure, but I believe with continued use this brightening eye cream will help reduce the puffiness under my eyes.
Recently introduced, Beyond Mascara Volumizing Treatment does exactly that, especially when combined with City Lash eyelash treatment (more on that below).
And, it’s formulated to help strengthen and condition our mature lashes, so they look naturally longer and fuller.
I was able to test this product before the official launch, and I was really impressed with two things. One, the way it separated and elongated the look of my lashes, which are definitely thinner and more sparse than in my younger days.
And two, there was no smudging under my eyes, even at the end of the day.
I think the combination of City Lash and Beyond Mascara is a real winner!
I had never taken the time to condition my eyelashes. After all, when I was younger they were nice and full, and quite long, too.
But now that I’m in my 60s the eyelashes are broken, thinning, and basically rather sparse.
I started conditioning them twice daily with City Lash, and I really think it is helping my lashes. They really do feel thicker and softer, even a bit longer.
Combining this treatment with Beyond Mascara is a winning combination!
This moisturizer is designed to visibly restore skin’s elasticity by lifting, tightening, and firming the look of sagging skin. The skin is nourished with the vital building blocks that give young skin its taut, springy feel.
For me, the neck area ages me the most. Of course, it’s my own fault. I enjoyed time in the Florida sun and didn’t give my neck and decolletage the protection it needed.
So now I have the wrinkles and sags that come naturally with aging skin, but they’re made worse from my actions of the past.
This is the area where I’m focusing my efforts with the Multi-Action Sculpting Cream. I use it on my face, too, when I’m not applying the night mask described above.
I can say that this cream is soft and blends in well without leaving a greasy residue. I’ve used others that are very thick and gooey, and I really don’t care for that feeling. It’s a keeper. 🙂
I have had the pleasure of using City Lips Clear, City Lips Shimmer, City Lips Opaque, and 2 colors of City Lips Matte. I’m wearing City Lips Matte in Rosy Mauve in these post images.
City Lips is a highly popular product from City Beauty, and in fact, has won the Good Housekeeping award twice!
What makes City Lips so special? Well, it is a plumping lip gloss that gives you both an immediate and long-term solution for your lips. It includes innovative ingredients that help restore healthy lips.
And, it delivers deep hydration for instant plumping and long-lasting comfort, and smooths out lip lines and wrinkles.
City Lips Matte is a non-drying matte lipstick that can last all day without bleeding into fine lines or wrinkles. I’ve found as long as I let the lipstick dry for several minutes before touching my lips or taking a sip of coffee, for example, it does not come off.
City Lips clear has a high sheen that is quite lovely when worn on its own. And, it has a soothing cool feeling that tells me the ingredients are doing their job to hydrate my lips.

What Should a Mature Skin Care Routine Include?
Any time we’re touching our face, our skin, it should be with a gentle hand. As we age our skin loses elasticity because it produces less elastin and collegen. It appears thin and loose, so lines and wrinkles are the result.
Our skin also stops producing the same level of moisture so can become drier as we age. And, age spots can appear where we’ve accumulated sun damage.
So…treat your skin gently and with respect!
Use a cream cleanser to help replenish moisture.
Consider using a serum to help skin look more radiant and renewed as well as add moisture.
Give your eyes some love with an eye cream designed to diminish the look of dark circles, bags and wrinkles.
Use a wrinkle cream at night to help skin repair itself while you sleep.
Don’t forget to use a moisturizer on your neck and decolletage, to help moisturize and diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
Use an SPF to protect your skin from sun damage. It could be a singular product or found in your moisturizer and/or foundation.
Periodic use of a hydrating face mask will help skin feel soft and supple.
The most important thing to remember is to treat our skin gently, using products that are specifically designed for mature skin. We all age, no getting around that fact, and although the products we ultimately choose to use are a personal choice, make sure they are the best products for your mature, beautiful face!
