Fitness trackers are handy little friends that can literally go everywhere with you. They are always ready to record steps, workouts, heart beats, sleep patterns, and more. Consequently they’ve become attached to many of our wrists!
Affordable fitness trackers for women are plentiful. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to have a tracker that helps you monitor your physical activity. We’ll discuss the benefits as well as why we should even care about something like fitness trackers a little later, but for now, let’s take a look at these budget-friendly options.
All of the recommended affordable fitness trackers are highly rated on Amazon, 4+ stars as of this writing. I have personally owned several of them (I’m always up for a lower cost solution that meets my needs) and would love to share my experience with you.

Affordable Fitness Trackers for Women
These five affordable fitness trackers would work well for women who want to keep track of their fitness goals without spending a lot of money.
None of the prices at the time of this writing exceed $100, and most are under $50. Of course, it is true that you get what you pay for, so realize that these are simple trackers that will probably not last for years.
I’ve owned several different budget friendly fitness trackers over the last few years and the average life has been about 18 months. Sometimes the apps that link to these fitness trackers perform a little worse than the higher end trackers, so know that up front. I don’t use the apps myself, just the tracker itself, so it doesn’t bother me at all.
Classic Women Smart Bracelet Fitness Tracker
- wears like a bracelet
- comes in four colors
- syncs to your smartphone
- monitors heart rate
- tracks steps, calories burned, distance, and workouts
- monitors sleep
- reminds you to get up and move
- syncs to app: H Band
- charges magnetically with USB port
This is the fitness tracker I’m currently wearing every day. I like the bracelet look to it, and the size of the face is easy to see and read. It syncs to an app on my phone called H Band, although I don’t refer to it much.
I charge it about every 3 to 4 days, which is very convenient. It has a magnetic charger that plugs into my computer’s USB port. Easy peasy.
Note that there are not options to change the display of the face, so you have to be okay with that. The display lights up when you touch the area at the bottom that says, ‘touch’. From there, you can move to eight additional displays of information. With a current price of less than $60 it works well for me. My goal is to track steps for the day and check my heart rate periodically. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CLASSIC WOMEN SMART BRACELET FITNESS TRACKER
YAMAY Smart Watch Fitness Tracker
- comes in 7 colors
- easy to read display
- waterproof
- syncs to your smartphone
- tracks heart rate and sleep

- charges magnetically with USB port
This is an affordable fitness tracker that has a lot of practical uses. I own this tracker and found it to be very easy to use as well as to see. It has a clean, modern look to it which I really like.
The only issue I had was that the band is quite wide, and on my wrist it was a little too much…strictly a personal style thing. Other than that I loved how it worked and how versatile it was.
At less than $40 and very highly rated, it’s worth a look. It syncs to an app on your phone that will also track your steps, etc. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE YAMAY SMART WATCH FITNESS TRACKER

Why is a Fitness Tracker Important?
So, why would we as women over 50 be interested in affordable fitness trackers (or any type of fitness trackers)? We’re not training for professional competition, our budget might not allow for those “nice to have” purchases, and we’re not out to best our friends in the steps department.
All of those things may be true, my friend, but it doesn’t change the fact that we must care for our bodies every single day as we get older by remaining active, and if at all possible, engaging in:
- aerobic exercise, including LISS cardio
- strength training
- functional fitness exercises
Walking, jogging, marching in place…all of these steps are part of our aerobic exercise, every single day.
And, I’ll let you in on a little secret: you aren’t getting in as many steps as you think. That walk you took may have seemed like it went on for miles, but in reality was probably much less.
Of course, there are other forms of exercise, too, that can also be tracked with a fitness tracker. I started tracking all of my workouts as part of the Mighty Health program, and it was rewarding to me, personally, to see what I could accomplish in a day with commitment to my overall health and accountability to my goals.
Whether you’re searching for a program to join to reinforce healthy lifestyle habits, or are curious about what a fitness tracker can do, give these little wrist-hugging friends more than a cursory thought.
Something as simple as an budget friendly, affordable fitness tracker can literally change your life!
Of course, there are hundreds of options available to us in the fitness tracker arena, and if you would rather spend more money for a tracker that can do more or you, here are some highly rated trackers to consider:
So, how about you? Are you willing to spend a little bit of money to give yourself a great big gift…the gift of a healthier lifestyle? No, fitness trackers are not magic, and just because you slip one around your wrist and it looks pretty cool, it doesn’t mean that you’ve added years to your life or will suddenly drop 10 pounds.
But I will say this. Having my fitness tracker on my wrist every day prompts me to check it and see how I’m doing in the step department. How active have I been today? What do I need to to in order to finish my aerobic exercise for the day? And, it’s an overall reminder to take care of myself, every day. Because I’m worth it.

I love wearing a tracker. It keeps me going when I start to feel bored or a little lazy. I have a weekly goal and I don’t give up when I’m looking at my numbers. Great post.
I agree, Marguerite, a tracker is a wonderful motivator!
