Coffee with Candi 4-20-2018

(Last Updated On: April 19, 2018)

Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.

Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.

And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂

What’s on my mind this week:

in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleAlthough I’m not a daytime TV watcher, I’ve checked out some episodes of Fixer Upper on HGTV in the past, and it was kind of fun to see how Chip and Joanna Gaines would renovate and decorate the home of the week. But I have to say, I’ve had enough of Joanna’s wondrous design abilities. All due respect…she is amazing for sure! But I don’t need to see her latest and greatest designs, paint colors and new products. Enough, please. What do you think? Am I being too hard on Joanna?

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleWhat is up with the weather? Seriously? We’ve had such unusual weather patterns in the U.S. this season, with cold, snow, ice…you name it. I am insulated from all of it because I live in the southeast corner of the country where the sun always shines. But my family is in Michigan, and they (as well as millions of other in the Midwest and Northeast) are so over the nasty weather. Please Spring…come soon! How about your part of the country/world? Is your weather ‘normal’?

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleI discovered a new brand of coffee to love! It’s called Laughing Man Coffee. I can usually find it at Target. It has a wonderful, full bodied flavor, which I really enjoy. The darker the better 🙂

The coffee is actually a part of the Laughing Man Foundation, founded by actor Hugh Jackman, and named after a wonderful, smiling coffee farmer named Dukale. Read more about my current favorite coffee and the Laughing Man Foundation. What is your favorite type of coffee, tea or beverage?

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleBeen thinking about my man, the love of my life, who passed away a little more than 2 years ago. He is always on my mind, but more so lately. I think I may be ready to write about our very special relationship and how I have adjusted, and am still adjusting, to life without him. Maybe soon…  How about you? Are there any memories of people, places or experiences that have been on the forefront of your mind lately?

One Special Thing:  Flowering Tea

One of the things I love about blogging is the opportunity to share discoveries with readers. Hopefully someone finds this stuff interesting besides me! In preparing for Mother’s Day I came across the most intriguing, and beautiful, method of brewing tea. I just had to purchase my own Blooming Tea Set and make tea (yes, I do drink other beverages besides coffee!) with the flowering tea blooms. It was fascinating:

I know…it doesn’t take much to excite me 🙂  This really is a unique and memorable gift for Mother’s Day or any special occasion for a loved one, friend or even for yourself. Read more about the best flowering tea and beautiful blooming tea set!

  • Love your coffee with Candi post. I do one monthly but a weekly one might be an idea. The weather in Brisbane is still hot and it is supposed to be Autumn. We have great winters with clear skies and sunshine but it is still temps up to 30C which is very unusual. I’m off to brunch tomorrow to celebrate my friend’s 50th. Enjoy your weekend.

We are seasonally opposite, aren’t we? I love how the internet can bring people together from all over the world! Enjoy brunch with your friend and hope you’re feeling better.

I look forward to your Friday chats AND your introduction to different products ……I have, recommended TeaBloom to two of my friends that were discussing Mother’s Day gift-giving. Thank You
