Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.
Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.
And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂
What’s on my mind this week:
in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head
I spend a lot of time on my computer…probably 5 hours per day on average. Some days I’m in the field so it’s much less, and others could be 8 hours or more. So when my little friend starts to move agonizingly S-L-O-W-L-L-L-Y….it drives me absolutely nuts. I am a patient person in many ways, but not when my PC decides to move at a slow crawl. It’s almost as bad as the longest, slowest line at the grocery store. I have a gift for finding it almost every time. What pushes your buttons and frustrates you?
It’s been 3 weeks since I started the exercises for my natural face lift, so it is time to post a couple of photos, my friends. I think you’ll notice a bit of a change. I have. Both photos were taken in the same room in the same spot, so the lighting is consistent. I am wearing a bit of makeup in both, so that is consistent as well. Photo on the left was taken 3/12/18, photo on right was taken 4/2/18:
I know…they look like mug shots, don’t they? But I wanted to have a ‘resting face’ without a smile, so you could see all my wrinkles more clearly 🙂 I give more detail about what I’m doing in the post, so go HERE if you’re interested. Are you ready for a natural face lift?
My mom just came home after a week or so in rehab. She fell recently and fractured her pelvis in 2 areas. At 91 years of age it’s traumatic and takes a long time to recover. I see how fragile my parents have become at their advanced ages – my dad is 96 – and I love them more every day, knowing that our time together is probably not long. Every conversation, every visit, is precious to me. I’m writing a post to honor my mom for Mother’s Day…watch for that soon! Who are the special people in your life?
I decided that my eating habits could use an overhaul. Generally, I make fairly healthy choices, but it seems like in the last few months I’ve gotten a bit carried away. So I decided to go back to Weight Watchers for awhile. I used this eating plan about 7 years ago with success. I like the ease of the plan as it is now, with everything tracked online or on a phone app, and a big list of ‘free’ foods that can be eaten any time, in any quantity.
Of course, it’s all stuff that’s good for you…fruits, veggies, fish, chicken, beans and more. I find that making myself accountable, even if it’s to myself (I don’t do WW meetings), brings me good results. Are you satisfied with your eating lifestyle?
I decided to invest in a fitness tracker and have been wearing it for about a week now. I’m really happy with it! Not only does it track all of my physical activity, it also tracks my sleeping habits (a bit creepy but informative), reminds me when I need to get up and start walking or exercising, nudges me when I get a text message, and so much more. I ordered a separate mesh band that makes my tracker look more like a watch, or bracelet, and I really like that, too. See photos and all the details here: Fitness Tracker
