Coffee with Candi 5-11-18

(Last Updated On: May 10, 2018)

Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.

Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.

And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂

What’s on my mind this week:

in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleI recently started asking readers to tell me what they wanted to see on Inspire My Style, and in last week’s Coffee with Candi I requested that you take a minute (more like 30 seconds) to complete a quick, 1 page poll of topics. The poll request can be found at the top of any page of this site.

The response has not been huge but it’s enough to give me a feel for what you want to read about. Of course, every topic I put on the poll, 5 in all, has had someone say ‘yes, tell me more about that one!’, so there have been no topic ‘goose eggs’.

The most votes have come in for: 1) Anti Aging and Looking Younger 2) Health and Fitness 3) Life and Emotional Well Being, with Fashion and Home Decor each getting several nods from readers.

If you voted in the poll, many thanks! I’m going to leave it up for awhile so if you haven’t voted, go ahead and tell me what you think. It’s very helpful!

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleI am going to do my first book review and am quite excited about it. I love to read, although with my busy work schedule my quiet moments are few and far between. I was offered a copy of Advanced, a just-released romance-meets-historical mystery novel.

It is the full-length fiction debut from NYC psychiatrist and author Leslie Schweitzer Miller, and initial reviews are very positive. I’m anxious to get going on this novel and will post a review when I’m finished. And I have committed to myself that it will be done soon!

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleI’m still faithfully doing my facial exercises, as part of my natural face lift. I have to say, it is quite amazing! I don’t really notice a difference from day to day, but when I take a photo and compare it to Day #1 of the program I am always surprised at the face looking back at me!

The biggest hurdle I can see for anyone who embarks on this program is being faithful in doing the exercises. They are not difficult, nor do they take a long time to do.  I know that they work, but you have to be committed. It’s like any other exercise program…it only works if you do it.

At the end of this week I’ll be posting more before/after photos. I would encourage you to seriously consider the Facial Magic natural face lift, no matter your age. It is a very small monetary investment for the return!

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleOne Special Thing – California Pizza Kitchen Frozen Pizzas

Well, I must be hungry because the one special thing that’s on my mind right now is food. In particular, California Pizza Kitchen Frozen Pizzas.

california kitchen pizzaIf you’ve ever eaten at a California Pizza Kitchen restaurant, you’re familiar with the thin, ever-so-flaky crust of their pizzas. That’s what I love about their frozen pizza. Doesn’t matter what variety I have, the crust is always delicate and flaky.

I live alone, so cooking for 1 can be a challenge. When I don’t want to pull out the pots and pans, a pizza can be the perfect dinner. But I don’t want a huge, heavy thing that will sit like a sack of potatoes in my tummy. That’s where my California Kitchen pizza is the perfect choice. I can eat 1/2 of a pizza (they’re not huge) and feel satisfied but not overly full.

It can also make a really filling snack or lunch, too. I buy my California Kitchen pizzas at Target, but I know they are stocked in other stores, too. So if you’re looking for a relatively healthy way to enjoy some pizza, try these and see what you think!

Until next time,

  • Hi Candi and happy Friday to you (although it is now Saturday morning in Brisbane). I’ve just been for a 15km run and feeling good. I also completed your poll last week and I have a survey on my newsletter at the moment but it is hard sometimes to get feedback! I have started Mindful in May a mindfulness and meditation challenge so I can see your point when you talk about the facial exericses and making a point of doing them daily to get results.Have a great week and see you at the Midlife Share the Love Party on Wednesday!

Congrats for completingi the 15km run, that’s awesome! It is hard to get feedback on surveys, but even a small percentage will give you a good feel for what readers want. Have a great week!

what do you think?
