Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.
Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.
And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂

What’s on my mind this week:
in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head
Maybe it’s just me and my attitude, but it seems like so much of social media is just nonsense, and much of it has little value. I’m thinking specifically of Facebook, and will say that I have not been a regular ‘poster’ in the past on a personal basis. Even now the vast majority of my posts are for my IMS business page. So I’m on FB numerous times per day for business reasons.
On the one hand, as a business, I should be in front of my followers (and potential followers) regularly, as that keeps them interested and coming back to my page. On the other hand, I try to make sure that whatever I post has at least a bit of value…inspirational quote, cute photo to make you smile, and of course posts about my current and past blog topics.
Anyhoo, it just seems like I scroll past a bunch of nonsense every day. What do you think of social media?
I strained a muscle in my back. I think I did it when I was working on a home staging job last week. It is NOT a big deal, and I keep on doing my usual stuff, but it is so annoying. I sit with the heating pad on it in the evening like an old lady. Ugh. How about you? Have you enjoyed good health?
I ordered a bathing suit online recently, which is a pretty scary thing to do, for obvious reasons. But the photo was so cute, and it just spoke to me for some reason, so I decided to order it. The price was really reasonable, too. It arrived in the mail the other day, and I absolutely love it. It is a 2-piece suit.
Problem is, I only love it from the front….not so much from the rear…literally. The bottom is cut just a bit high on my rear, and at my age the rear just ain’t as firm as it used to be, so we won’t be taking that to the pool anytime soon. I was quite disappointed, but then found another bathing suit bottom that I have, that looks good with the top. So I still have a ‘new’ bathing suit, adjusted to be age appropriate! 🙂 Have you made any age-related fashion adjustments lately?
Recently I wrote about Causebox, the seasonal subscription service that offers products that support artisans globally, and helps make the world a better place. I received quite a few comments about this program, as it is not the typical subscription service. Well, the Summer 2018 Causebox is taking reservations, so if you are curious about how the program works, have a look at it. They have revealed some of the products that will be in the box and will be unveiling more soon. It really is a unique and worthwhile service. Do you belong to any subscription services? What do you think of them?
One Special Thing – Spring Cleansing Strawberry Detox Water
I came across this refreshing strawberry detox water recipe while reading a post from a fellow blogger. It looked so delicious (if you can describe water as delicious) that I decided to save the post and make this drink.
I’m an avid water drinker so I don’t need to force myself to stay hydrated. But, how pretty is this glass? And the combination of flavors sounds so refreshing!
It is regular drinking water that is infused with fresh strawberries, lime, and mint. The micro nutrients from these fresh ingredients dissolve into water which help to get rid of harmful toxins from the body. Also, it is a really good alternative to sugary drinks like soda and processed fruit juice.
So I went to the store and bought fresh strawberries, limes and mint, prepared them and put them in a pitcher with fresh water, then let it chill for a couple of hours.
It’s really tasty! All three flavors come through, and the water turns a really pretty pink 🙂 The photo on the left is my detox water after steeping for about 12 hours in the frig.
Give it a try!
Until next time,
