Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.
Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.
And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂

What’s on my mind this week:
in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head
It has been very, very warm in many parts of the country recently. We expect high temps and humidity where I live in SW Florida, but other areas are not accustomed to the heat wave they’ve experienced. We all look for ways to stay cool, and I am no exception.
There are fabrics that can help keep the sweat off of your skin, and this is particularly helpful at night when trying to sleep.
Cool Jams have that ‘magic’ fabric to keep skin cooler. I really love mine! There are quite a variety of styles, so if these capris and tank aren’t the thing for you, no worries. (And, they have pockets! I’m quite fascinated with them for some reason in this photo)
And, if your man loses sleep because of a bit too much sweat, there are options for him, too. Check out the benefits of wearing Cool Jams for a better night’s sleep 🙂
I spend quite a bit of time on social media for my blog, and I see lots of recipes for yummy food…breakfast, sandwiches, entrees, desserts…oh my, the desserts I see! Can you tell I have a sweet tooth? My first thought is, “yes! I’m going to make that, it looks awesome!” Then I remember that I live alone, and what I make…I eat.
So what do I do? Nothing. I collect them on Pinterest until I have family here so I can split the calories with someone else!
It’s no secret that I am a big believer in regular exercise. It has so many benefits, particularly as we get older. While I am very faithful to my exercise goals and routine, I am not a fan of spending time stretching to prepare for/conclude a workout, even though I know that I should.
I was reminded of the benefits, and the importance of stretching as a healthy start to our day as well as before and after out workout routine, by my blogging friend Sue from Sizzling Toward Sixty. She hit all the points so well that I wanted to share her post with you. Please head over to her blog and read why you should stretch each morning.
Oh, and Sue…I did do a few stretches after I watched the video in your post. You would be proud of me!
I like to have a bit of color on my legs all the time, no matter what the weather is doing outside. Actually, I live in the sub-tropics so if I wanted to and had the time, I could have tan year round. But, it’s really not the healthiest thing to do, and I don’t have the time. So there you go.
But, I don’t want to have white, pasty legs, whether they are showing or not. I know what they look like.
So I use a moisturizer that has a gradual tanning process built right into it. I’ve tried others, some much more expensive, but Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer gives me just the right amount of natural looking color.
It can be used anywhere on your body, and there is a special lotion just for your face. I generally just stick to the legs, though, and that makes me happy. So if you feel like having a bit of a tan anytime, give Jergens Natural Glow a try!
Have a safe and happy weekend!
Until next time,
