Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.
Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good, the bad, the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.
And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂
What’s on my mind this week:
in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head
I was at the airport the other day…actually at three airports because I had a layover. So, while waiting for the flights to board I had some time to do a bit of people watching. As a result, I have an observation, or piece of advice for anyone of the female persuasion who chooses to wear yoga-type pants in public. You know the style…form fitting to the max, usually black or another dark color, although sometimes they are quite patterned and colorful.
Most women will wear a longer tunic type top over them, and that can create a nicely styled look, casual for sure but pulled together. Sometimes, though the yoga pants will be paired with a top that stops at the waist or is tucked in.
So, here is the advice: PLEASE look in the mirror, rear view, before wearing these pants in public IF you care what you look like from behind. If you don’t, that’s cool. But you might be surprised at what you see if your outfit exposes the entire derriere. Enough said.
Buy a Bracelet…Pull a Pound. Does that phrase mean anything to you? It didn’t to me until recently. One of my blogging friends wrote about 4Ocean, an organization that is dedicated to cleaning the debris out of our oceans.
The whole thing started with two young surfers visiting Bali, Indonesia, and it has turned into a project of great magnitude. Made from recycled materials, every bracelet purchased (currently $20) funds the removal of 1 pound of trash from the ocean and coastlines. In less than 2 years, 4Ocean has removed 1,117,556 pounds of trash from the ocean and coastlines. That is amazing!
If you are interested in learning more about 4Ocean, where they do their clean ups and how they work, please visit their site. I see that they are coming to my beach, Fort Myers Beach, on Sept. 8, 2018, and are currently accepting volunteer registrations. If I am home at that time I will do my best to be there and help.
In the meantime, I plan to do my part with a $20 donation for a bracelet. How about you?

Although I won’t be able to jump right in and take advantage of everything this membership offers (I’m back in MI helping my parents), I’m very excited about taking advantage of the workout routines and videos, the tips and advice as well as some great recipes! I think it will fit right into the eating plan I mentioned last week, so I’ll be updating you on my progress on both. 🙂
