Coffee with Candi 9-21-2018

(Last Updated On: September 20, 2018)

Welcome to Coffee with Candi, a time for us to have a chat every week on Friday and catch up.

Well, I’ll have a chat with you about my week…what’s been happening, the good the bad the exciting, the boring…most importantly, what have I learned about life, my family, my friends, work, health, looking my best…I’ll spill it honestly and openly with you. Always with a fresh cup of hot, black coffee in my hand. I think better with java in my paw.

And, I’ll share one special thing that has brightened up my week, so it can potentially make you smile, too. It might be a new gadget, a piece of furniture, a nifty clothing find, a recipe, or something to make your life easier. It’s my gift to you that will keep on giving. 🙂

What’s on my mind this week:

in no particular order…however the thoughts came into my little head

Coffee with Candi Inspire My Style

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleI made the decision this week to set a schedule for delivering my ‘new post’ emails to subscribers...that would be many of you 🙂

They were being sent out every time I published a new post; I am now going to be notifying you of new material on the blog on Tuesday and Friday each week. I don’t want to be a bother or overwhelm you with my stuff, so thought it might be a good idea to limit those emails to twice a week.

Hopefully you’ll be willing to open and review each link in that message!

Coffee with Candi Inspire My StyleHave you ever kept a food journal? I haven’t, not with any real dedication. But, I decided to record the food I’m eating…started about 4 days ago…with a goal of paying more attention to what I shove in my mouth on a daily basis. It’s not that I eat so much food, but I have a tendency to graze as I walk through the kitchen, and that adds up over the course of a day.

And, I know as I am getting older, that grazing tends to stay with me, if you know what I mean.

Food journaling is also something I’m incorporating into my online course for women in midlife, and I always prefer to speak from experience.

For me, if I am going to write down what I am going to eat, it makes me stop and think twice before making that decision. The ability to see an entire day’s worth of what I consumed in one simple column on a piece of paper (yes, I am doing it the old fashioned way, and I like it!) is kind of enlightening.

What is your experience with a food journal?

  • Hi Candi, I have a coaching client and I set her up with a food journal If you want to lose weight or even just take stock then you need to actually know what and when you are eating. That can certainly be a surprise. I love Autumn in Northern America and we have travelled there several times during the glorious Fall. It is Spring in Australia now so heading into the heat of Summer already! Have a great week!

Thanks Sue, I know that I’ve learned quite a bit in the couple of weeks I’ve been keeping a journal of my food and water intake as well as exercise. It keeps me honest! I have always loved Autumn, too…the crisp fresh air, cider mills and bonfires!
