Simple Holiday Party Outfits
A Little Black Dress:
The little black dress is always a winner no matter the occasion and is something that can be dressed up or down in line with your style comfort level and the type of gathering you’re attending.
An evening holiday party may call for some special pumps and statement jewelry, where an afternoon gathering might work well with a fluffy jacket and fashion boots.
This is such a timeless and classic look that you can wear it with anything, so having a little black dress in your closet that you can accessorize differently for each party is a good way to create an amazing look each time without having to buy a whole new outfit. Little black dresses are awesome!

Glam It Up
If you’re searching for that oh-so-special, memorable outfit, a flattering faux wrap dress might be just the ticket. This style is complimentary to many body shapes:
If you want to go for a Christmas look and keep things fun and casual, there are plenty of options for doing this. Choose a classic holiday or ‘ugly’ Christmas sweater that will express your mood…have fun with it and find the ugliest sweater out there, or keep your look a bit more understated and elegant.
Pair it with some black slacks or leggings and a pair of stylish boots or mules. This simple, casual Christmas outfit can take you from morning ’til evening, and keep you comfy, too.
If your holiday spending dictates keeping things on a budget friendly level, this look may be perfect for you! I love the challenge of scouting out the most interesting and stylish look at the best price. But that’s just me. 🙂
Be sure to check out this LookBook, too! You’ll find some of the expected ‘ugliness’ but some classic, lovely choices if that’s more your style:

Jeans are such a versatile piece of clothing that can be dressed up and elegant, or fit in perfectly for casual looks. If a great pair of dress jeans work for you, but need a more dressy look, then consider something like a bright and jazzy top and some heels or just some statement earrings that can bring together a really dressy, but effortlessly stylish look for any Christmas parties you get invited to.

I am ALL ABOUT the LBD! I love it and own a few too many! But wait, can you really have too many LBDs?
Hmmm…I don’t think so! Thanks for stopping by, Amanda!
I love wearing a little black dress for holiday parties. The best part is that you can always add a colored scarf and mix it up for different ones! I really love boots, too! Not only are they fun to wear, but I can wear warm socks in them, too!
Yes, the LBD’s are always flexible when it comes to dressing for a party or gathering. And I love your thought about the boots, as I am now living in snow country I do the same thing!
What about us that are plus sized?
Hi Catherine, most of my fashion-related posts are for women in general. I don’t focus my topics on women who are short, or tall, or petite, or plus-size, although there are bloggers who speak only to women with a certain body shape or height. Many times, the clothing suggested in my posts can be purchased in petite or plus size. Thanks for taking the time to write!
