I’m peering into my closet and contemplating the tank tops, short-sleeved sweaters and otherwise warm climate clothing I’ve accumulated over the last 12 years, and it occurs to me that I will need to shift gears soon, and layer up for the colder climate I’m relocating to. Thus, this simple list of winter wardrobe must-haves was created.
As much as I’m looking forward to being close to my family…kids, mom, grandkids and friends, I can’t lie. Moving to the cold winter weather would not be my choice. But it goes along with the family, so off I go into the cold, cold north with a (chattering) smile on my face! I’ve got to get those cold weather essentials up to the top of my list again.
Let’s have some fun with our winter wardrobe must-haves because we always want to look stylish, no matter what’s happening outside our window. And the simple fact is, layered clothing can help keep us warm, protected from the elements and ultimately, healthy. Wintertime is one of the worst times to have a cold, isn’t it?

Love these! I have never been a “winter” dresser, it is still to warm in Arizona, but these are really nice!
Thank you, Holly. It’s been quite a few years since these styles would apply to me, too, but they will soon!
It’s now sweater weather 😃 love your choices!
Thanks so much, Bryl!
Wish I can wear these type of coat, these looks comfy, winter here is so cold, need parka and the puffy jacket here.
You’re right, Ina, these are for those inbetween times. I have a big furry coat with a hood that my husband bought me a long time ago. I keep it for the coldest, windiest days in Michigan!
I love all of your suggestions, Candi although I’m reading your post in 33C heat! We are heading into Summer and where I live even our Winters are very mild, so I don’t often have the opportunity to wear winter fashions. I love how you added links for various categories as well. Keep warm and I’ll try to keep cool! Have a great week. xx
Thanks, Sue, I know your seasons are the opposite of many here in the US, so thanks for taking a peek anyway! xo
It sure feels like winter now here in NY! Love the different items featured in this post. My faves are the gorgeous olive knit funnel neck tunic and the hi-low hem turtleneck.
Yes, I think that cold weather is creeping in throughout the midwest and eastern part of the country! Glad you found a couple of favs 🙂
I am loving particularly your choice of boots and scarves. I tend to wear the basics but change up boots and scarves a lot. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Joleisa, I’m glad you found some things you like 🙂
Lovely choices here – that turtle neck jumper caught my eye! xx
